Have you noticed that even when you don’t do much, the day still feels like it flies by? Or that it suddenly feels like “the day is over” much earlier in the evening? This is actually connected to the Winter Solstice, which usually falls between December 21–23 and marks the shortest day and longest night of the year. Why does time feel faster around the Winter Solstice?As daylight shortens and nights arrive earlier, daily activities and external stimulation naturally decrease. With fewer “event markers” to register, the brain compresses time, creating the feeling that the day passed without much happening. This is a completely normal seasonal response.
Tips: ● Schedule important decisions during daylight hours ● Reduce tasks that require judgment in the evening ● Allow your day to end earlier without guilt
